The winsock gateway stuff has not been touched since 2001 except to shorten the timeout delay. The routines were written before any event handling was put into the IBS language. I have used it for simple client code such as the email printer and that attempt at an ftp client you are using. I know it can be frustrating to use at times. The problem I generally had was determining when the transmission to me was ended. I am willing to let you see the internal code (c and assembly) if you think it would help.
