I am just a tiny bit curious to know why the Qtilities are still using the dark-ages "READ" statement when the newer "INQUIRE" statement is available and does not barf on all/any EXTRACTed record?

Since the MAINT utility tries an EXTRACT the only other way to "see" the record is to do a DataDump, but that one also is troubled by the EXTRACT.
