Hi,

I am having problems with trying to get Comet 2002 working on a Windows 2000 Laptop. The laptop was recently upgraded from Win 98 to 2000 and was working prior to the upgrade. When trying to install the CometKMD to initialize the parallel port for the Comet key, an error message appears to indicate that the iniatialization failed. Amy thought it may be related to a parallel port problem and referred it to her department. They wrote back the message below suggesting that we switch to a USB dongle key. Is there a problem with using a parallel port key on a Win 2000 system?

Hi,

The Henkel software engineer said that at the Signature Systems website,
it said that for Windows 2000 you need to install a USB driver even if
you're not using a security key. He also said he would first contact
Signature and ask for a replacement USB key for the parallel port. (His
friend had medical software with a parallel key. The software company
ended up sending a USB key and everything worked.)

Also at the website, it says you need to install the USB software even if
you are not using a USB key. He suggests we call Signature.

Can you do this?
