I think you could look at a third method. I did this for one of my customers who sells report packages for 275+ Home Owners Associations on the web. Every month they run a Comet job that runs in background. It prints hard copies of the reports, creates PDF versions in the AutoSave directory, captures the PDF's temp file name, and moves the PDF to a non-Comet server. The user never sees the PDF's.

This worked so well that the program now produces a second set of reports that go to an non-Comet archive server.
