I agree with the idea that READ is for files and INPUT for screens. I can't remember every using INPUT for more than one field.
BUT
I do wish the NEW Input, the one that does not need TM and TP, had a friendlier syntax. It's the position requirement that prevents me from using the otherwise nice NEW Input. Here's what I want:

Length 30 & Local MaidenName$
Print @(10,10);"Enter mother's maiden name"
InputNew MaidenName$
=========================
I hate hate hate counting positions on my fingers and toes. And should I have to move the prompt....Yuck
