Jon is correct in his response to Tom. When you update a license certificate while users are logged in, the Security Server checks to be sure the new certificate has at least enough licenses to cover the current users. If not, the update is not allowed.

A common situation at this time of the year when subscriptions are renewed is for the Comet Anywhere licenses to be upgraded to the new product. Of course the current users are logged in using last year's Comet Anywhere licenses. This would cause the Security Server to deny the update.

If this happens and you don't want to shut down the server to install the new license, you should be able to do it by just logging the Comet Anywhere host off. Then update the license and reconnect the host. The other users will not be disturbed.

Version 8.00 of the Security Server eliminates this inconvenience so next time you shouldn't have to worry about it.
