Interesting question! CometLib doesn't support image files. We're phasing out support for them throughout the product line. Your best bet would be to convert the file to non-image.
If you're not up for what that conversion would entail, I guess you could use CometLib to read the entire record into one buffer, then parse out each field yourself. As you probably know, string fields are preceded by a length byte and numeric fields are packed.
