Forum Server Malfunction

Beginning on Thursday June 5th, we experienced a SCSI disk malfunction on the Support.signature.net server. We got the server running again with the help of the support staff at our co-location site, Sonic.net. Even so, it appears that that disk drive will have to be replaced.

We tested our backup procedures by moving all of the files and programs that are used by the forum to a different server and configured the firewall to point to that server.

We learned that we were not backing up all of the files needed and fixed that.

Reconfiguring IIS on the replacement server was the most difficult part of the move.

We are now running this Support forum on the new server.
