I've been using VS 2005 to design my dialogs. Brian wrote an "add-on" to copy the INC and DLL files to the right spot in Comet. I think the dialogs come out looking better and more consistent that the ones I did using the direct method.

But, I wrote IBREDIR.IBS using direct because I wanted to give it away and didn't want to have to deal with DLL's.

Brian has a DLL based demo and a direct based demo.

Also, take a look at Jim's "So you want to be a Windows Programmer" series of sample peograms.
