I thought it was 100% fixed. At least we have not heard of amy problems since.. When the connection to CfamNetSrv is no longer active, CNS waits 2.5 minutes max and then tells CometServe to close the connection. At that point all files are closed, all extracts are relinquished, and all file locks are unlocked.

This was changed in Server 8.00. Here is the relavent announcement.

"If client will be polled every 2 minutes. If there's no response within
30 seconds the client will be logged out and disconnected."

I hope that upgrading the Server will fix the problem as this is a very sticky problem involving several layers of interface. We are also working on a small utility that may let you kill orphaned nodes in CfileServe.

How often does this happen? and does it happen to just one account?
