Printing on laser printer

Our Comet programs "think" printers are 132 columns wide and 66 lines deep. Lasers are not.
We, my customer, did something that enabled Comet to print in landscape mode with smaller print.
The server's hard drive went bye-bye and now they are re-installing EVERYTHING. I have no recollection of how we did the landscape magic and the old COSW.INI files seem nowhere to be found.
Any suggestions??
