Oops, I was wrong. Laptop user didn't have Full Control on Q: (\\ssasd00\comet). Usually, I set up all my "users" as admins. MS Small Business Server 2003 has a user set up wizard with Admin, Power, Mobile, and Standard choices. I set up the Laptop user as a Power User and didn't think to set the security for Users on the share.
The symptoms were just different enough from Win2000/Comet to keep me confused.
