Another speed up option. With "Ready Boost", you stick a thumb drive into a USB port and Vista allows you to dedicate part to system paging. It's faster than the page file on the hard drive.
Intel has developed "Turbo Memory" which is the thumb drive built in. Version 1.0 didn't get very good reviews. Version 2.0 is out but some manufacturers are declining to add it to their PC's. The Intel version isn't for page file usage. It allows you to permanently load programs and data into "Turbo Memnory". For boot up and initial program loading it looks to be a nice option. Might be a good place to keep my Comet development files.
A 4GB module is about $85 when added to a new PC.
Anybody have any experience with "Turbo Memory"?
