That worked great, thanks! I opened CAUPDVSN.TXT on TMP on the host, read the first record, and compared that version with the one i got from STRIP(STR(IHEXDEC(SUB(STS(0),19,2)))). That seems to be doing the trick (I'm not getting an update message). We'll see if it works the next time COSW changes. Thanks for the help!
