Largest Comet Anywhere Environment

I am looking to know what the maximum number of comet anywhere sessions can be reasonably supported (not theoretical, but actually supported in the real world). We are considering outsourcing our data center and converting existing "thick" clients to "thin" anywhere clients.

Also, has anyone been successful in "clustering" of anywhere hosts?
