One other bug I've noticed: when CATEMP is set to "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp\CATEMP", Data Express barfs with an ExcelView error -- "Run-time error '62': Input past end of file".

Removing the environment variable (that is, setting CATEMP to "C:\Temp" or similar) works properly.
