After working with Brian and Barbara on this issue I've come to a resolution. Again, the symptoms were 1) Comet Explorer would not run, and 2) Cosc startup log showed not a single remote & local connection but 20 or more connections being made. Brian supplied a Cosc that showed some additional startup detail in Cosc and at that point we found that the connection to CometLib was not being made. I connected up to this system, manually registered Cometlib.dll at a command prompt and this solved the problems. I'm guessing that the server console I was connecting to did not have the Comet Installation program run on it in some time, thus the dll not being registered. Tom.
