Plus, you're narrowing yourself to FF users by thinking strictly plugins for that browser (Only 33% of people use FF). The power behind XAP/eComet is to have web based applications that mimic PHP or ASP.NET using the capabilities of Comet. A plugin or extension would act the same way, I'd believe, just attached to the browser rather than the web site. I don't see the use entirely, myself.
