Again, thinking out loud. Recently copied all of my Music CD's to my 1.5 terabyte, raid five Win 2008 Server. With all the CD's I have, was surprised how little disc space (in today's terms) was required. 200 CD's less then 12 gig. I haven't bought any videos. Imagine videos take more space. At this pace, I'm good for decades!! All my stuff can be stored on an USB Mem stick for backup. The floppy drive is DOA, don't even think floppy anymore. Recently found a 1.5 tera IDE drive for less than $250. Nice backup for a raid 5?? Back to Web 2.0. Reviewed making play lists for MS's Media player. Didn't like MS's sort/selection methods and their default paths used. Searched MS Media Player alternatives and discovered a XML play list data base. It's called MP3FILEDB.XML. Just passing this along. My goal would be to program/build a play list using Comet. This could extend to video's also. OR anything else!!
