Although "-" isn't a banned character, it does do something strange in Explorer's sort. Attached is a sample from a Vista Biz PC.

Keith, since this will be a dull sports weekend, howabout you taking Sunday afternoon/evening to explore this in more detail and gives us a report first thing Monday.
