I wouldn't say that 64-bit drivers are an issue - unless you have some obscure hardware [i.e. hardware made by a brand that most never heard of]. Installed Vista 64-bit on a 3 year old system. Only hardware it didn't pick up [but MS Update did] was the audio card [Audigy 2], USB TV tuner, and a webcam.
