The original intention of the SysFonts feature was to provide compatibility with many programs that used fixed-size compressed and expanded printer fonts. I had no idea as to "what" comprised such a font for any given printer so I created a system that would allow the user to make that determination. And, although I didn't set limits on how additional SysFonts might be used, I never imagined anyone would take it this far. Now that being said, I do see a problem with proportional fonts in this regard. The won't work because the character spacing parameter is invalid for propoprtional fonts. It would take a major effort to work out a solution for this and as such, it is not likey to be done in the near future. My suggestion to you is to write code to manage your own fonts using the printer font selection commands instead of system fonts.
