The CAUpdate process has gone through evolution lately. For Comet2004 systems, the update is almost totally automatic. There is no need for a separate Caupdxxx.exe file.

For earlier versions of comet, you must download separately the correct CAUpdxxx.exe file.

This file must be placed in the folder that your Comet host knows as the UPDATES directory alias.

The ComtAnywhere user runs the CAUPDATE utility and is asked which version of CometAnywhere to update. The number corresponds to the xxx in CAUpdxxx.exe.

If the correct file is not in the UPDATES directory, the user will be told so.

So, On the CometAnywhere HOST computer, look at its UPDATES folder. Make sure that the correct CAUpdxxx.exe is there.

Here is a link to some documentation for this utility. As I said earlier, this whole process has been simplified lately. It is MUCH better in Comet2004.
