For security.. having multiple layers of security is important.

The "best practice" thing to do is to only operate windows as an ADMIN user when you need to do ADMIN stuff.
Normally a USER does not need to do ADMIN stuff so they are only a standard user.
Thus the need for two users.

Under XP this was more diffcult to do, as ADMIN was required to do so many things, so we did not do this much.

Under Vista, I do not have a problem running as a Standard User and do so for 95% of the time, yes the UAC is occasionally a pain but I like having the extra layer of security.

All the Vista systems we do are setup with an Admin User and a Standard User. The "user" would normally not be told what the Admin user password is.

The PC does not belong to the USER, though I too have see that way of thinking, it belongs to the company the user works for. The company should be setting the rules and not the user.
