Here's how I'm going to use SetGlobal / GetGlobal now that 399 is out. On my menus I use CTMAINT to establish POPUP's that the programmer defines. Point and click a popup menu item. Once that program is running it's basically a sibling program that was called by the parent menu. The sibling program displays hyper-link selections. Point and click a selection and place PARTITION$ into COMMON. Do your SetGlobal and then activate a BACKGROUND partition program that does nothing more than perform an INTERRUPT on the passed partition to the parent menu. Of course the sibling ends with an EXIT and the background partition program ends with a STOP. While the parent menu program is waiting around it receives the INTERRUPT and branches via the MESSAGESUB statement and you can process stuff based on CTMAINT POPUP selections via GetGlobal. Now all I have to do is DO IT!! Here goes...
