I would expect file system benchmarks to be almost exactly the same between comet16 and comet32 since they both use the same file system. I would expect that numeric calculations would be slightly slower in comet32 since it uses such enhanced numeric processing algorithms.
I expected to see a slowdown when going to Comet32 due to the speed difference between assembly language and C++, but I don't actually see a slowdown. If anything Comet32 is faster than Comet16, perhaps because Comet16 has to do much address translation (thunking -- look it up), and that process is very processor intensive. Also Comet16 is single threaded. All Comet Users execute within a single windows thread. In Comet32, each user occupies its own Windows thread, allowing you to take advantage of a multi-processor environment among other things.
