Reporter Confusion

Barb thinks I am silly, but I am confused about the programs that comprise the reporter these days.
What are these and what do they do???

dx - entrance to the current Reporter (what you get when you click "Reporter" in QMONITOR)
dbx - the original DataExpress report launchpad - functionality replaced by DX
dbmgr - the Data Dictionary maintenance program
qreport - the old Reporter front-end (UTR directory)
qreports - the Reporter back-end
viewmgr - functionality replaced by new DataExpress report builder
docmgr - the document archive utility, not part of the Reporter

I think that docmgr does not belong in this group, and that viewmgr, qreport are obsolete, but what about the rest? Is dbx obsolete as well? If a program is obsolete, can we just get rid of it?
