Well, as I mentioned in a past post, I got my new computer this past week. I picked up my first 64bit 'barebone kit'. This included the case, motherboard, memory (4gig), CPU (2.8 intel core 2 dual)w/fan and a 500gig hard drive). I fished an old dvd drive, monitor, keyboard and mouse from the pile and put the system together while watching tv one evening. One flick of the power switch and Windows 7 (64 bit version) in the drive and she hit the pavement running. Installation took longer than me assembling the box, but it was faster than the last dozen OS's I've installed.

Long story short, I'm impressed. System is quite (can't even hear it), it boots in about 30 seconds and shuts down just as fast0. Being a die hard XpPro user, Windows 7 looks and runs good. It's fast! So far the testing has been limited to a few simple applications. IE runs like a rocket, problem downloads and installations are also noticeably quicker. As I mentioned in the earlier post, I've also got Windows 7 (32bit) running in vmware v5.5 on my XpPro system. Both os's installed and are working flawlessly so far.

I've got free licenses for about 10 months with the evaluation copies I downloaded from Microsoft site. "IF" thinks keep going like this for the next 10 month - I'll most likely skip the whole Vista experience.

With regard to Signature software, I've loaded latest version of CA on both 32bit and 64bit os. CA installed and ran fine in x32 Windows (Vmware).

I have problems with CA on the x64 os. CA downloaded and installed in about one minute - no issues. I connected to a client system (I opened up the access) and got the initial Name and 'are you sure' question and then it came up with the log on screen (Enter Password:) prompt. That's it, when I tried to enter the blind password it would not work. All I got was the 'access denied' message. I know I typed in the correct password. Any one else try this and get it working or get same results? I tried setting compatibility modes to 'Windows 95' and XpProSp2 - no luck.

As an aside, I also installed another client telnet terminal program and it worked fine.
