Been informing my clients of the "cloud" for years. Think of it as a public disc drive where you can store anything you want. That's how mobile does it. Design your software around this kind of storage?? Privacy goes out the door. Oh come on, you don't have anything to hide do you?? Camera cell phones and utube tell all. For ACCOUNTING?? Program anything you want but skip accounting on the cloud. Maybe A/R credit card app's are the exception. You give up control of your data. If it's on the cloud, it can be accessed. Here it comes!! MS/Google war is on!! Google Chrome OS is 100% cloud. I like MS's approach of hybrid. A mix of both worlds. Do what you dare, that's up to you. MS Office 10 embraces mobile and desktop and 4GS. Mobile browser, e-mail, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. Where's Comet come into play with this? Seems like that word "hybrid" is being used over an over lately.
