We're good Keith. I'm a bit of a hardware hacker too. The only server that's still running after about six years (24/7/365) has only had one power supply fail (there were two), but it took a month to find it at a used parts place last year. I'm not going to press my luck, so I recommended we look at getting a second server. The old girl can still be our 'backup' box.
We ended up going with the lower end unit I mentioned. Even at 5k, it's still less than half of what the old server cost (which had many upgradeable stuff we never ended up doing - like memory, hot swap drives, 2nd cpu). We just happened to have it available at the time and it became the comet server.
The new box may be a bit faster, but it's the ability to just make a phone call and have the parts readily available for the next few years. That's the best part of the deal.
I'm getting tired of dumpster diving for computer parts when hardware fails.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
