Vista/7.... does it make a difference if the client terminal is running it?

Have only been using COMET since mid-August. Stable enough system (Build 391) with around 20 terminals on MS Server (2003/2005?), which I haven't had to look at.

Had a multi-component failure on a user desk-top system which had Windows Media centre, and now have to replace the hardware for this one system. Seems that the choices from our hardware vendor are Vista or 7... making this the only Vista/7 client in our network.

Any significant caveats?

COMET configs and SYSGENs (do we still use those terms?) are way, WAAAAAAAAAAAY beyond me, but I didn't think I have to do anything just to get the one user access to the COMET data for day-to-day work... since it seems like the existing connection is thru an icon that points to COMET on a shared drive, and where the connection comes from (vista or xp) shouldn't matter.

I'm strictly a developer (starting with IBM 7000 series machines), but have been thrust into this role and wondered if there's anything I have to know about it.

Thanx (in advance) for any and all counsel about this question.

Bob "A"
