What what's it worth, the DOS version (503) of comet operates in DOS and requires at lest 500 file handles in the config.sys file. However Windows ME will default to only 40 file handles even though you put FILES=255 in the config.sys and therefore not work. Windows had a routine in which you could change the number of file handles in the registry, but unfortunately DOS does not pay any attention to the registry.....so 503 WILL NOT WORK USING WINDOWS ME.
This is the result of many hours trying to make it work, not from any great knowledge.
