ON my Test System, after this chronology, my COMET system became unusable....

Restarting the system
Deleting the CometSrv.log files (CometSrv1.log -> CometSrv6.log) the biggest one was 3.6GB (yes... GB)
starting up the server again

Additionally, I changed the setting on the logging on:
CometDatabaseServerConsole -> Propertied -> Messages
to only log Login/Logout/Connect

From that point forward (1 work day/8 work hours) the COMET system wouldn't work properly with a program I was testing for about a week. The symptoms are that

the terminal upon which I'm running becomes locked
all the other active terminals become locked
I can't open up any other COMET sessions.
stopping COMET services didn't seem to help...

The only option is to shut down the entire server with all the COMET services and start over.

The really strange fact is that I was able to sent this object to a colleague who has COMET at home. She was able to run the program to an orderly end just fine.

I was at my wits end, because I was continually running out of space (UltraEdit couldn't save swap files and .bak files) So I took the step of removing the old logs.

NOW... I can't develop, nor test and don't know what is the next step.

any assistance is appreciated!

Thanx

Bob "A"
