You only have had to run comet.exe ONCE as administrator. Once cometlib is registered, it will persist even though you subsequently re-install Comet several times. Comet.exe tries to register cometlib each time it runs. If it fails, it does not report it, since to do so would require that the user run with administrator rights every time comet is run.
