Some 7 stuff I've discovered

Today was "Get er' done" day. Had to format Sata drives using a Dell 4700 "7" PC so I could use the 1.5 tb drives as future USB external. Seemingly, you can't use USB SATA drives if a formatted partition does not already exist. Not the same as FLASH!! Installed more memory, 4 gig. 32 bit PC's can't address above 3 Gig memory. Can install 4 gig in Dell 4700 but it cannot be used. What's this?? It's called 32-bit hardware limitation!! Vista won't report 4 Gig installed just 3, 7 will report but still can't make use of it. Installed more NAS. Installed a gig-bit network card. Had to manually install Vista drivers. This took awhile because D-link acted like it installed but obviously it didn't. Had no network connections. To D-Link, what's 7? D-Link driver release was early 2009. Talking about not looking to future. Smells like vendor Vista issues. Other vendors not up to 7 yet?? Buyer beware. 64-bit beware also. Forgot one last detail. Got everything to work nicely then tried one last update called Symantec. Before upgrading from Vista Ultra to 7, MS strongly suggested to un-install Symantec before upgrading. So after upgrading to 7 attempted to re-install Symantec. Lot's of warnings but I ignored them since 7 is Vista R2. I was wrong. Symantec appeared to install correctly but never cranked up. Did a RESTART and 7 got stuck on loading. Pulled the 2 USB drives, nothing. Hit the reset. 7 came up with something called "Startup Repair". 7 knew it's last attempt to crank up failed!! Yet another pat on back for MS!! My PC came back to life. Here's the catch. Took the path and all MS's suggestions to go back to last known good configuration. It un-installed everything I did today. So now I've got to stare at what's up with Symantec. Here's the baton!!
