Enhanced printing problem

I'm printing two images on an invoice. Both work when run from one data directory, only one prints when run from a different directory.
All the images exist and can be seen in Windows.
A screen display message confirms the pathname. (All the pathnames are stored in a Z1 record to give the user the freedom to change them)
Unlike Comet file reads, apparently the Windows API does not report when it cannot get the image file. Am I missing something? Can I know if the read fails?
Any ideas??
