When you do a Comet workstation install a version of the file server is installed in the Comet executables folder. If that is the same as your Comet Services folder (the folder where you installed the file server) you could clobber it. The file server that is in the Comet folder is used to serve the client's local files. The one in the Comet Services folder is used to serve the shared files on the server.

So, if you had installed a recent version of the file server and then an older version of Comet and you installed both to the same folder, you could end up running an older file server.
