OK, its the User Account Control Settings. Its set at one click down from the top, two up from the bottom.
When I run Comet it comes up with a box that takes control of the screen and I can't do anything but answer its qquestion."Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer".
Black writiung on a yellow background, with a shield i left hand corner. Then a white box with
Progrtam Name : comet.exe
Publisher : Unknown
File Location : Hard drive on this computer.
Then a yes/no option.
This comes up every time I run Comet, there doesn't appear to be an option to tell it to run it always.
If I move the UACS cntrol down to the bottom, that allows it to run, but , presumably allows lots of other nasties to run also.
