HELP I broke my computer

I can't compile with one click.
Every time I click compile it complains that it timed out. I click again and it compiles!
My guess is I loaded this poor computer with so much important crap that it's slowed down so much that CAPI is struggling.
I could remove some of the soooo very important crap, but I'd rather tell CAPI to wait a sec and be patient.
Is there a switch that does just that?
