I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Excp 31.

I did a verification in my QERRLOG and found lots of Excp 31. Most of them having to do with a Print-To-File printer where Path=C:\LPX.prn

This excp would happen only if two partitions on the same system tried to access LPX at once, obviously happens more often than expected.
