I've seen that happen sometime in the past... What seems to happen is that the Windows spooler times out and decide that the job is done... Sometimes it is the print server (happened a lot with HP multi-ports print servers). This usually happens if there's a big delay (or pause) in the middle of the report.
Solution has been to tweak the settings in the printer configuration on the workstation. Try spool job before printing. It also varies based on the drivers itself. I found that for Windows printing (cooked method vs RAW) the PostScript print driver has a better response time than the native PCL printer drivers. I know this is true for the Xerox Docuprint N32 and the Canon ImageRunner. The font change was always sluggish on these.
