Wth a sample program from Robert, I was able to write TESTBIN whicg gave me the following info about the drawers. Here's thr results for various HP printers ...

Seems like HP is evolving away from two digit codes to three digit codes and there's no universal numbering scheme. No idea what those other codes on the P300 could be used for.

Some of this may be because you're talking to the print driver and not to the printer. You may get different results from a PCL vs PS driver. Maybe different results from different OS's.

If I was starting fresh, I'd put the "tray discovery" logic in my program and search the description list and capture the codes I needed.
