It's time to get serious about planning to attend the Comet 2010 Meeting. It will take place at the Days Inn in Newark, New Jersey on October 12th through 14th.
Monday October 11th and Friday the 15th are travel days. If you want to be part of the block of rooms we've reserved, the price is $342 for 4 nights. This includes a buffet breakfast. There is a free hotel shuttle from the Newark airport. Check in Monday afternoon; check out Friday morning.
We plan to run this meeting rather informally as we did last year. That meeting turned out to be one of the most productive meetings we ever had! We'll meet each of the 3 mornings and leave the afternoons free so you can tour NYC if you wish. Public transportation is available to get you into the city.
There are several things we can discuss at the meeting. Probably the most important is the transition from Comet16 to Comet32. Lots of customers are buying 64-bit versions of Windows. You need to be ready for this. A couple of you have already done it and I'm sure you'll have some great stories and advice to share. Expect some talk about DocMgr, XAP changes, mySQL, CFILES, WDL updates, Disaster Recovery, and Transaction Backup design.
This meeting is open to all Comet users. If you'd like us to reserve you a room, send me a email and we'll handle it. We'll send you an invoice for the $342. You are responsible for any incidental room charges.
