updating client to cometserve32 vsn. 10.02

Trying to update a client to cometserve 32 vsn. 10.02. Closed the comet icons in the system tray. Stopped the services. Get the following error when running the install program: Error 432. Setup has determined that uninstallshield is in use. Please close uninstallshield and restart setup. Restarted server and still get the same message. The only install/uninstall that appears to be going is the cometserve 32 installshield program. Any suggestions?
