End-user calls up to say that they haven't posted UPS Tracking numbers in a week. Additionally, they have been manually entering all ship-to addresses over the same period of time. Why it took them a week to let me know about it is a mystery, but here's the scoop.
Their server ( 10.3 services, Comet2010 419 ) is in Manhattan, shipping machine across the river in NJ connected by CometAnywhere. They have an interface program to a) Transfer shipping addresses from NY to the warehouse, and b) Transfer FedEx Ship Manager tracking numbers from warehouse back to NY. Program has been running for five years with tweaks here & there, but rock solid. Last week the files stopped transferring as the problems cropped up and I've checked dates on files to verify that 9/15-9/16 is when updating stopped. The symptoms are these - Copyfile erases the old version, creates the new file ( date shows as current ) but no data transfers into the file and it shows as zero bytes. The tested flags from the Copyfile show that the file transferred successfully.
Yikes! I tried running a different, independent program that produces an Export file of their sku's & does a copyfile. Ran that & it produced same results, a zero-byte file. I can't do anything with the C/A host right now because they have 15-20 active users around the country in showrooms. My plan for troubleshooting is first thing tomorrow morning exit the C/A host and bring it back up again, then test a Copyfile. If it still doesn't work I'll reboot the CometAnywhere Host PC & try again. If it still doesn't work after that I'll be looking for something else to try short of a downgrade. They've been on C2K2010 since 8/25 so it had been working fine for three weeks under 2010.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
