Oops on the CONDENSE utility. I have corrected it for the next UTL release and sent you a copy to get you going now.
The FILENT program simply increments a counter after each successful read. What type of file are you doing the RECNUM on? If a keyed file, you could be reading deleted records. Please send more of the code you're using.
