Installing the latest version of Comet/CometAnywhere

This was discussed in the developer meeting last week.....

We are switching our development environment to Visual Studio 2008. As a consequence of this we must require that all workstations/CometAnywhere clients have the vs2008 runtime components installed.

Previously it was a simple matter for us to include the required DLLs and have Comet.exe install them dynamically, but now Microsoft has made this process much more difficult.

Many Windows systems may have the required DLLs already installed because they were pre-installed by the manufacturer, or some other application installed them. As of build 420, the indication that the MS DLLs were not installed is a message that says that COSW could not launch COSC.

Until we can come up with an automatic process to install these DLLS, please go to the link below and execute the redistributable installer.
