i got my program to hang up consistently. I narrowed down to the file opens in an "entered" program. When I take out all of the opens the program runs through OK. When I put the 16 open back in it returns OK but hangs on the the next write which happens to be my printer. I will try to narrow down how many opens it takes to hang Comet32.
