I agree that field names are better than column headings.
Louisa's suggestion that field names are more meaningful to users is off the mark. Users generally don't get involved with CSV files.
Field names don't have ^ embedded.
Field names are limited in size.
Field names are NEVER shortened beyond understanding like AMT, QTY, EA, UM
