To me it looks like we already have Windows Touch support in Comet, you have the tools, you make it happen!
Wanna put Comet on iPad/iPod/iPhone? Go for it, the technology is there. Try XAP. Who says XAP can't do Java, Ajax, SOAP or Multi-Media??
